Concrete Curing Compound
Curing is essential for the hydration of cement in concrete making. So, to maintain required moisture content, some precautions are applied. It is a compound which helps to prevent the loss of moisture content from the concrete. Membrane-forming curing compounds are used to retard or reduce evaporation of moisture from concrete. They can be clear or translucent and white pigmented. White-pigmented compounds are recommended for hot and sunny weather conditions to reflect solar radiation. The white pigment reflects the sun’s rays to help keep the concrete surface cooler and to prevent excessive heat build-up.
It is well known that concrete curing compounds help protect and sustain concrete roadways, airport runways, and bridge decks and is ideal for application on exterior, horizontal surfaces such as highways, street and curb paving applications when proper curing is required.
